Do Monkey the group & Album

DO MONKEY is an ‘80s band of two monkeys, core members Tequila Mockingbird and Richard Skidmore. Their bizness, music, and etc. relationship lasted nearly 3 years with DO MONKEY PRODUCTIONS booking 50 NEW WAVE THEATER TV shows “in the heart of Los Angeles’s exploding music scene” (quote from the intro to NWT— check YouTube). Some of those same booked bands were then booked by DMProd into one of the 7 or so clubs open 7 days a week with 3 bands a night. Exploding!!! 

They also produced TARGET LA No Nuke events and the BOB MARLEY MEMORIAL concert in MacArthur Park (MC Roger Steffens)— an event famous for gathering 5,000 people of all colors downtown dancing peacefully to a great sound system, and this concert was broadcast LIVE over Stevie Wonder’s radio station KJLH. 

In the midst of all that, the two DO MONKEYS, would find the time to record. Setting Tequila’s poems to music and recording in a bedroom, living room, store front, or recording studio, with Richard producing the recording, and playing as well, and Tequila (with the Fritzi exception) singing lead.

ZERO ZERO CLUB
Lyrics composed by Tequila & Richard while scouting bands for NEW WAVE THEATER, and waiting for a bus to the next nightclub. It was the theme song for the afterhours ZERO ZERO CLUB on Cahuenga in HOLLYWOOD. Recorded in a bedroom of their house off MacArthur Park. 
The bass and drums track, produced and performed and recorded by Richard previously, played live in the room, while Tequila and 13 backup singers were directed live by Richard. Suzi Gardner of L7 was one of the singers.
